On March 19, the Brookwood Cluster Foundation awarded over $22,000 to schools within the Brookwood cluster. 

The foundation is made up of dozens of parents, business owners and teachers in the community dedicated to maintaining the "tradition of excellence" the district is known for.

"It's our job as a foundation to support the school," said foundation member Ron Weber during the ceremony at Summit Chase Country Club

The Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA) and the Georgia Department of Education (DOE) announced that 30 Gwinnett County public schools earned a spot on the state’s 2009-2010 K-12 Public Schools Scoreboard and Report Card, which highlights Georgia schools for academic achievement and improvement during the 2009-2010 school year.

As the winner of the largest education award in the country, Gwinnett County Public Schools will receive $1 million in college scholarships for its high school students. The four finalist school districts will each receive $250,000 in scholarships for their students.

Some Gwinnett County students from Brookwood High recently earned the top national spot during the Wordmasters Challenge, a national language arts competition. The team of 9th graders placed first, outperforming hundreds of teams and thousands of students from across the country.
